The winery is located in the Colombaroli farmhouse and is comprised of 9 hectares of biological vineyards in the Monte Netto regional park. The varieties grown are Marzemino, Sangiovese and Merlot for red wines and a small part of Trebbiano and Chardonnay for the whites.
Agostino Gallo, an italian agronomist, cited the local “barzebino” in his manuscript “le 20 giornate dell’agricoltura bresciana” published in 1565, to indicate the red grapes that were grown in this small area.
A long tradition therefore distinguishes the DOC of Capriano del Colle which, with its 68 hectares, is among the smallest in Italy.
The vines grow on yellow clay surrounded by lowland forest, prerequisites for very characteristic wines, produced in an area of great naturalistic value and of historic oenological vocation.
These are important aspects that add value to the Viti & Cultura Bio project.
